Is Ridora free?
Yes. No booking fees, no commission and no ads. Passengers pay drivers directly by UPI or cash. Prices are meant to share fuel and toll costs, not to make a profit.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Ridora runs in your phone’s browser. Add it to your home screen (Chrome: “Install app”, Safari: Share → “Add to Home Screen”) to open it like an app.
Why only a mobile number — is it verified?
You sign up with your mobile number, a username and a password — no email. Ridora doesn’t send SMS codes, so numbers aren’t SMS-verified. Use ratings, reviews and a quick call before your trip to build trust.
How does Ridora work without a company server?
Rides, bookings and ratings are signed records stored on public Nostr relays, so there’s no central Ridora database. Your account key is created from your number and password, which is why you can sign in on any device — and why you should keep your recovery code safe.
I forgot my password.
Use the recovery code you saved when you signed up. Without it, nobody can reset the password.
Where do addresses and maps come from?
Address search uses OpenStreetMap data via Photon, routes come from OSRM, and maps from OpenStreetMap and CARTO. You can also drop a pin on the map for an exact pickup point.
Do I get notified about bookings?
Yes, while Ridora is open: you see a pop-up and, if you allow it, a browser notification. Keep Ridora open (or installed on your home screen) around your trip time.
